People do not like when I say this but I do believe it was all very deliberate. Star Wars was far more expensive to produce six years ago. All the expensive baggage has been shed while giving Marvel less competition and a bigger budget. This is part of why I'm excited for the upcoming Dune, considering Star Wars was heavily inspired by the books. The director said this adaptation would be like Star Wars but for adults.
